Perfect Blue

Perfect blue was crazy. This film used misdirection so well and had me viewing the wrong characters as the villain. I didn't think twice about rumi because she seemed to just play a supporting character but once revealed, it felt like it should be so obvious. The use of parallelism to the reality and mima's show was clever as it added more to the confusion of the film while also serving as some sort of explanation. whenever mima would wake up, i thought her lack of memory was due to the disorder when it was really to the pressures of fame and decline of her sanity. again, the misdirection was used so well in that sense and made the plot twist so unexpected.
